Nursery and primary schools to reopen in Rivers state on November 23

Governor Nyesome Wike of Rivers State has approved the reopening of all public and private nursery and primary schools in the state.

A confirmation by Chidi Adiele, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education Tuesday November 17 says schools are to reopen on November 23

Adiele who recalled that schools were closed in March due to the outbreak of COVID-19, said the the reopening is for the first term 2020/2021 academic session and in line with the school calendar published in August.

He added;

“All headteachers, proprietors and other concerned persons should take all necessary steps to ensure safe and hitch-free resumption. The resumption shall be in line with the extant COVID-19 protocols”
